Fitness Update

So I'm using this platform to update my fitness journey as discussed previously. It's been 2 weeks since starting the challenge and it has been both easy and hard at times. I'm really enjoying preparing my own food and although I haven't taken many photos as they are far from perfect they have been so delicious. I'm using this lockdown to focus on myself, physically and mentally and it is so rewarding.

I had new weights arrive in the post this week and it made me so excited to start training properly. It's very hard for me as I work an office job and working at home I am still sat at a desk for majority of the day, therefore I am making it a must to use my lunch to go for at least a 20-minute walk this coming week especially to get my steps up as I struggle most days to reach 10k steps. I have been really enjoying the live workouts as part of this challenge, and I always look forward to them as it's always something different and works the whole body.

The thing I have found hard is the 2 strength workouts as there is minimal support on how to do these. However, some of these workouts are in the lives so I have managed to complete them but I feel they do not work me enough. They consist of a warm-up, activation and the main workout and the stretch. I guess I enjoy the live workouts more because you have the guidance of what to do and have 30 secs to a minute to do armraps which works best as you can go at your own pace.

Food-wise, I have been preparing many dishes from the Live Like Louise recipe books for example, Italian Turkey and Penne, Chicken Korma, Salmon Burgers with Avo and Sausage Ratatouille to name a few. I love cooking and I never did it often but I quite like cooking with fresh ingredients, it's so rewarding to find the finished product tasting so good! The other day I also made the decision at 8:40 in the morning to bake some fresh scones before work and omg they tasted amazing and they fitted within my macros. I was buzzing for the whole day.

Being really honest with you at the start of the challenge I weighed 60.5kg and I've put on 7kg since working in an office. On average on my first week I've lost half a pound. Now it doesn't seem like a lot neither is it noticeable but with weighing yourself every morning my weight is completely different. Most of the time meeting my macros is hard to be exact all the time and yes I have gone over a couple of times as I am not dieting just eating what I want within my macros/calories. Sometimes it's hard to meet them and sometimes too easy to. However, this said I have lost currently an inch off my waist and 2 inches off my hips and a couple off my arms and legs. It's a long process and I don't imagine I am going to see results straight away because let's be honest it's not some magical program that other diets promise you it's a lifestyle I want to live.

I have been going on many walks when I can and thought I would include a photo of the view on my route. It's so refreshing and resets your mind. There's just something about going for a walk that relaxes you. I have also started participating in the running aspect this week and it was really hard for me as I haven't ran for over a year and I struggle to keep going and feel very exhausted. However, it's a really big step for me and it's something I'm working on to improve.

It's a short update today.

All the best and enjoy the sunshine!!

Love T x
