Inspiration in a Book

I've found a passion for reading personal growth books. They inspire the mind and uplift you and bring you great energy.

One of the hardest things for me was to sit down and read a book whether that be fiction, non-fiction it was super hard for me.

If I did reading at school I'd always pick the easy ones with fewer words and more pictures. I was simple. I didn't really care that much at all for books.

I thought they were a total waste of time and energy. Boy was I wrong.

I've learnt a lot about myself in the simplicity of reading, it's fascinating how words/research can develop your mind within the first 5 minutes of reading.

There is no better inspiration than reading a book that will change your life, change your mindset and change your journey.

I'm so very much excited to tell you about this book, because it has transformed the way I think, act and do.

The Miracle Morning

I was reading this book as part of my fitness 90-day challenge, I was a bit slow reading my other book and was trying desperately to get ahead but kept feeling like I was getting stuck on this one hurdle.

From the very first page of this book, I was enticed, I could not put my kindle down. So Powerful, informative and real. Finished the book in 4 days, now that is incredible for me.

Everything you want from a book and more. It's a real-life antidote, something you can take away and think more about.

The introduction is raw, emotional and fantastic in every way. I can't recommend this book enough.

This book has gone on to encourage me to pursue my goals and dreams now more than ever.

So I would like to share my 12 key points and takeaways from this book to help push you in the right direction.

#1 Time

We need to take a closer look at how we spend our time.

We waste so much time watching and re-watching shows, films and programmes or even just wasting time lying on the sofa doing absolutely nothing.

There are 24 hours in a day, we spend approximately 8 hours sleeping, 8 hours working. We have the remaining 8 hours for eating and doing anything we desire, so why waste this time?

Think about it, you could spend at least 1 of those hours learning something new, taking on a new hobby or even tidying/cleaning to help your mental health.

Why would you waste those 8 hours sitting on your ass not bringing anything to the table?

My first key point is to dedicate time each day to becoming a better you. Making use of the time you have.

Using that time to be creative, learn, attract, and be cable of consistency and sustaining the great levels of success that you want in your life.

Even if it's 5-10 minutes a day, morning or evening do something that's going to change you for the better every single day.

1% of small changes each day will get you to where you want to be.

#2 Person you are becoming

To bring success in your life you need to think about the person you want to become.

What does he or she look like?

How does he or she act?

How does he or she go about her day?

How does he or she face problems on a day to day basis?

What does he or she do to impact their future?

The point is 'your level of success, will rarely exceed your level of personal development because success is something you attract by the person you become'.

Prepare, plan and take action.

#3 Success is a struggle

You've most likely heard the saying 'money grows on trees?' Success isn't easy, it's a struggle.

People don't realise the hard work and effort you need to put in to have success. It's not all roses and unicorns.

You get out what you put in. You're always going to be a reflection of what you invest your time.

Hard work pays off period.

You have to prepare to fail. Failing is part of the process. If you didn't fail, you're not working hard enough.

Your success is inevitable when you show up.

Be the person who owns success, who embraces success, who transforms success.

Know that everyone is going to struggle and there will be hard times ahead but the more you stick with it, the better you will be.

#4 Action is required

You don't get anywhere by dreaming and not doing. You get there by taking action.

You could spend all the time wishing but not doing.

Again what a waste of your time.

Wake up earlier, whether that be by 15 minutes, 30 minutes an hour - make it count.

Give yourself the extra time to work on yourself. Work on that side hustle in your spare extra few minutes, do that workout/get fit, spend that time meditating and manifesting your dream life.

The power of waking up earlier can change your whole day, week, month and year.

Believe in yourself.

If you want different you have to be willing to do differently.

#5 Results

You are where you are because of who you were, but who you choose to be now will decide on where you'll go.

The power to change your outcome relies on you solely.

The only person who can change your outcome is you.

What are you gonna do to see results? What results do you want to see?

Start being result-driven. Start with small steps.

You'll get there.

#6 Don't choose the easy route

Every choice you make shapes your future.

Your one decision from a different life. How insane is that?

Every time you make the easy choice instead of the long route/right thing you are becoming the type of person who always takes the easy route out.

Think about it, we do most things daily out of habit. If you have a bad habit that is to always take the easy choice, where are you going to be in 5 years, even 10 years time? Not where you want to be right?

Make better choices. Make harder decisions because you will benefit so frickin much!

#7  5 People you Surround yourself with

It's been said and I fully believe you are the average of the 5 people you surround yourself with.

If you choose to have friends/family members around who are negative, you are more likely to be negative.

If you choose to be around positive, ambitious, money-making people, guess frickin what you are more than likely going to be the same, making the same decisions and putting yourself out there.

Now there's no better time like the present to really have a look at the people you surround yourself with.

Who do you need in your life? Who can you live without/or need to?

It's definitely hard to just get rid of that person, but making small steps and distancing yourself would be so beneficial for you.

Always seek the people that will add value to you and your life and vice versa.

#8 Plan your morning the night before

Preparing and working with a plan is such a good idea. Whether you tick just one of those tasks of your list is such an achievement.

Mornings are the perfect time to to get shit done. So why not seek the benefits. At this moment in time I am writing my blog it's 06:34am.

You need to decide each night an expectation for the morning. There's a theory if you tell yourself what time you are going to bed and what time you wake up that you will fill energised as you've told yourself you will be.

It takes practice and I fully believe that it works. You could go to bed at 10pm and Wake up at 5pm and feel absolutely amazing.

You see when you wake up just even 1 hour earlier you have that time to do something you usually say 'you don't have time for' this could be exercise? reading? writing etc the list goes on.

#9 Affirmations

Creating affirmations that help shape who are, is so powerful.

Repeating what you want in life, who you want to be and what you want to accomplish as if you've already accomplished it.

Part of the manifesting process is affirmations. Speaking to yourself in a positive light. Acting as if you already have achieved those things.

They make you feel amazing and inspire you to do so much more.

Write them down and look at them every single the day. The more you do this the more you believe it is possible because you are imagining you already have it.

Action - Take 5 minutes now and write 3 -5 affirmation for yourself.

Let me give you a few examples:

'I am beautiful, intelligent and worthy'
'My success is inevitable and I am always on the right path'
'I am a money magnet'

Try it out, you will not regret it.

#10 Being Average Sucks

I want to be average said no one ever, so why do people settle for it?

Being average means you're settling for something less than you truly want or desire and that you can achieve and are more than capable of.

Why do you want to struggle all your life? I certainly don't want to and I don't think you do either.

So what's stopping you?

Maybe you have limiting beliefs? You feel like you're not good enough, you'll never be able to reach such a goal?

Start living in the now. You only have 1 life so make the most of it.

Put down your excuses, I can't..., It's not for me.... etc.

You can do anything you put your mind to, you just need to say it enough to believe it.

Go out and get what you want. The process may be slow and will take you while but how much better would you feel when you get there and achieve it.

#11 Write in your Journal

Writing is an incredible tool. Look at all the best books out there from the Harry Potter series to Lord of the rings. Everything imaginable.

However, getting your own thoughts on paper is an amazing thing. Even just spending 10 minutes getting things off your chest you couldn't speak to anyone about. Powerful.

It's important to write out your lessons learned and any new commitments from reading your own journals.

Go back through them and see how you've grown and shaped your life.

Look at where you were and where you are now.

You may not actually believe that you've achieved so much.

Always look to see how much you have done. It may just spark that motivation to get going again when you do hit a rock.

#12 Implementing

I talked about it briefly above but your morning is the most important part of your day.

You can get so much done before the day has started.

You can be that 1 step in front of everyone else.  How would that feel?

Whatever it is that you do, it could be sitting in silence and having that time to think for a moment.

It could be writing and saying your affirmations in the mirror. It could be visualising how your day, your week, your month and even your year will go.

You could be exercising/working out or even reading or writing in your journal, whatever you do start implementing it now.

Those extra hours or minutes you give yourself will really shape your life so next time you sit down and watch the morning TV before you got to work ask yourself, what could I be doing to make my life better? It most certainly isn't watching TV that's for sure.
