The Benefits of Gratitude

Gratitude - what is it?

Just like affirmations and meditation, gratitude is about bringing abundance into your life.

Gratitude can improve your overall health and make you much happier.

It's a simple thing, but many of us go day by day not actually being thankful for many many things.

Our day to day life can be so busy we forget the true meaning of being thankful.

Thankful you have caring and loving friends.

Thankful you are able to drive and have a reliable car to take you to work.

Thankful you have a financially stable job so your finances don't fluctuate.

There are many things we forget we have or things to be thankful for, but why?

Core benefits

Gratitude can improve your overall wellbeing. It gives you hope and feels you with happiness.

Being happy for what you have is so so empowering.

Being thankful improves your relationships with many people. Makes you and the other person appreciated and worthy.

The most important point here is it reduces stress.

How many people suffer from high stress in 2020, a lot I can tell you. Doing this one thing can help so much with that.

It makes you a happier human being in life and more able to recover quickly from stress levels and bounce back to your better self.

Appreciation

We take many things for granted.

Imagine having something we have/use every day taken away from us.

The ability to breath, the ability to talk, ability to walk, hear or see.

We don't acknowledge this enough.

It can be taken away from us as quickly as clicking your fingers.

So why don't we praise these things?

Why are we not thankful for these gifts?

Really being thankful for any of these things can really put a spring in your step.

Being more mindful is honestly a good way to improve your lifestyle.

What you can do

To express gratitude one can tell another person why they are thankful for them.

However, also writing down even just 1 to 10 things you are grateful for on paper or in a journal will do.

Writing them down and viewing them and reading them out loud every morning or evening or both will really help you.

Keeping a journal with these in that you can refer to all the time is a great idea, even if you have to amend them or add to them.

You could always write in pencil or even with a pen crossing things out, it doesn't have to be neat it just has to be true.

Examples of gratitude

Ok to get started here are a few things you can write down in your gratitude list.

I am so grateful for my body and the air reaching my lungs. It allows me to breath.

I am so grateful for my house. It keeps me warm, safe and sheltered.

I am so grateful for my job. It's secure and financially supports me.

I am so grateful for my family and friends. They are my biggest support system.

I am so grateful for my absolute health. It allows me to live without any physical limitations.

I'm sure you can think of many more or even adaptations of the ones above but any of these would be a good starting point for you.

My admiration for these has come from a lady that I admire and look up to called Mimi Bouchard. She has done so much personal development on herself and taught me these very exact grateful for points.
