*Disclaimer this blog post should have been posted before my post about 'goal setting'*
Why is it important to have a vision for your life
Most people think having visions or goals written down is a waste of time. It's not. Having the path of your life and future is so important. It shapers your life.
An influencer who really enforced this is Mimi Bouchard she says 'Your days create your week, your weeks create your months and your months create your years'. How incredible and important is that?
When you map out your life, you need to be clear with your visions. Set out what you want to achieve and the small goals to get there.
Personal happiness and life satisfaction is something we all crave but not everyone gets. If you don't enforce your own vision and goals then people around you will contribute and take over for you.
Creating your vision
Writing down your vision takes time, you need to reflect on yourself.
What do you want in life?
How are you going to get it?
Planning is a key part of this, you need to write down your aspirations, be ambitious.
Write it all down, no matter how big no matter how small. Get it all down.
What are your values?
Strengthen your future with your commitment.
What do you want out of life?
When writing your vision you need to think about the area of your life.
Think about what you want, financially, physically, mentally and emotionally.
What do you want your finances to look like?
How do you feel physically?
What how do you feel mentally?
How do you feel emotionally?
Think about these in both your personal and professional life.
Ask yourself
What does success look like to you?
What does your health look like?
What quality of life do you want?
What career do you want?
What do your family and friends look like?
What would you regret you didn't do when you get old and grey?
What skills do you want to acquire?
Living your best life
Get crystal clear about what you want and desire. Imagine your life 10 -20 years from now.
What have you achieved? Where do you live? How do you feel in yourself?
What is a typical day for you? How do you feel and look physically? Are you happy?
Goals are the steps you take to get there so do not worry about setting these yet. Do not overwhelm yourself at this stage.
You need to focus purely on what you want to achieve and not how you get there....yet.
Developing your vision
What skills do you need to improve or gain to get to your vision? (These will be put into your short-term/long-term goals.)
What habits and behaviours do you need to adhere to or do?
What actions do you need to take to get there?
Do you need any support?
How would you feel if you achieved your vision and goals?
Once you have written this down you will need to then create your smaller goals to work your way up to your vision.
The most important thing is to get clear on what you want your future to look like. Then you can start breaking this down to actionable goals.
Much love,
