The importance of managing stress

Stress is our body's response to feeling danger/ under pressure. It's what puts us in a fight or flight mode.

Sometimes a little stress can be good for you as it helps motivate you to achieve things in your day to day life.

However, as you can imagine the environment we are living in at the moment is far from normal and stress levels are high.

Feeling stress for a long time can put you into pure exhaustion and burnout.

Here are some things that could help you deal with stress:

1. Consider everything that went well for you today. Be thankful. Think about and write down the 3 things you are grateful for today.

2. Be more active, whether that be walking, stretching or running, moving your body will burn off some of your negative/ stressful energy.

3.  Plan your day. Planning a to-do list to tick off throughout your day once achieved will prove really helpful for those really stressful days coming up.

4. Splitting the workload into smaller tasks. Breaking it down into more manageable tasks. Also, give yourself credit for completing them. Most importantly don't be so hard on yourself you're already doing so great at just trying.

5. Challenge your negative thoughts. Speak to yourself in a positive light. Big yourself up. Encourage yourself throughout the day. Stop that negative talk. You are your best self and you can only do your best.

6. TALK. Speak to someone, your friend, your family or your colleagues. Getting your feelings out to someone is such a relief. We are here for you.

All my love,

xx
