The Struggle

Day to Day

As much as I talk about becoming the best version of myself possible it can be a real struggle to look after yourself or feel good.

We all get those days where we don't want to do anything, can't get out of bed or really have to push ourselves.

I'm finding as well that because the mornings and evenings are darker I have less motivation to do anything.

It's a real struggle.

I've said it before and I'll say it again, it's okay not to be okay.

Every day is not going to perfect. We need to stop pressuring ourselves.

Look at the situation differently.

It's okay you slept through your alarm, you needed that rest.

It's okay you failed that test, you can try again.

It's okay you did nothing today, other days are busy.

We often formulate and build up this anxiety in ourselves and pressure and worry when we don't complete something or we don't feel good about ourselves until it's done.

We need to change our headspace.

Mindlessly scrolling on social media is one of the biggest causes of depression.

Comparing ourselves to others is huge.

We need to limit our times on our phone because honestly, your mood changes significantly.

Phones are great and we can communicate and keep in touch but there has to be part of the day when you take a break.

Do other activities.

Have family time.

Even spending time with yourself can be good too. Gives you time to write down your thoughts. Listen to the silence, meditate etc.

Sometimes it is difficult to get up and go, but if you don't do it you're always going to feel this way.

'Your days turn in to weeks, your weeks turn in to months and your months turn in to years.'                  Mimi Bouchard

Think about it, this can always be your motivation if you're stuck. How do you want your life to look?

When you're old and grey and look back on your life what do you want to have to say about yourself?

Those days when you feel your worst just remember it's okay, you can always turn your day around at any point. Morning, afternoon and evening, anytime.

I totally get it, I've been feeling sluggish since August and I can't shake what it is but I'm trying every day where I can to make my days even better.

Trying gets you there, it may be slow but it's about enjoying the journey rather than the destination. (cliche I know but so damn true).

Remember you are not alone.

All the best,
